1800 SFL dateline 'Ship Foster Barham at Anchor at Sandy Hook 27 Miles below New York 7 July 1800 about midnight'. to London, England, carried outside the mail and posted in England, 8d due with "F AU 30 1800" red cds bs. An especially long and often religious letter well written with exciting postal details such as 'We safely anchored here about two hours preceding the date hereof, from when a packet departs at day break for England, whereby I purpose forwarding this". Written by a Thomas Robson about the privateer Foster Barham which was built in Halifax, Nova Scotia with 6 guns and a crew of 20.
